Synagogue pier

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The synagogue Pier was in Indener district Pier in Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia .

synagogue

The synagogue stood in what was then the main street, later Pierer Straße. The house belonged to the Cahn family. The prayer room was built in 1861. At that time the Jewish community consisted of about ten people.

There was a synagogue in Pier as early as the 18th century. The builder was the Jew Löb Voss. Since the end of the 19th century, the Cahn family visited the church in Langerwehe and later the Düren synagogue . It can therefore be assumed that the Pier synagogue no longer existed at that time.

The Pier site was completely dredged in 2015 because of the Inden opencast mine .
