Synje Norland

Synje Norland (* 1982 in Niebüll ) is a German singer and songwriter.

Life

Synje Norland spent her childhood in North Frisia until she moved to Munich at the age of 17 and to Hamburg three months later . After doing some odd jobs, Norland went to Canada for an internship . Today the musician lives in Germany (Hamburg) and Canada.

Synje Norland took classical singing lessons as a child and largely taught herself to play the guitar at a young age. At the age of 14 she founded her first band and gained her first live and studio experience. In 2001 she went to Canada for a few months and started writing songs there.

After her return, she met the Flensburg music producer Benito Battiston and in 2007 released their jointly produced album Skipping Stones. The telenovela Rote Rosen brought her debut to national attention, as some of her songs were used in the soundtrack .

In 2008 Synje Norland cooperated with the Berlin musician Sven van Thom . Together they sang the song Sad Girl, which was released as the first single on the album Phantomschmerz .

On April 22, 2011 Synje Norland released her second album To the Other Side. Again she produced the album with Benito Battiston and released it, like her debut album, on the Norland Music label founded with her father . She then played her subsequent Germany tour in May 2011 with her cellist Michael Becker, who is an integral part of her band and can also be heard on her two albums. The self-organized tour took her to Munich, Dresden, Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund and Göttingen, among others.

2011 Synje Norland was for the German music author award of GEMA nominated in the category junior.

Between 2012 and 2013 she toured Germany with the band Santiano .
