SysCP ("System Control Panel") was a computer program for server administration in PHP and MySQL , which enables an Internet service provider to provide its customers with a web interface for the administration of e-mail addresses and domains .

Florian Lippert started the project in autumn 2003. Since June 15, 2004, SysCP has been further developed under the GNU GPL . The software comes with configuration templates for Debian , Ubuntu , SuSE Linux and Gentoo Linux , but can also run on other systems such as FreeBSD. Supported services include the Apache HTTP Server , lighttpd , MySQL , PHP , Postfix and Courier or Dovecot for mail services, BIND 9 as a name server . Additional services or extensions can be easily integrated into the configuration of the services operated by SysCP, for example ClamAV , SpamAssassin and many more.

SysCP is an alternative to fee-based and proprietary systems such as Confixx or Plesk , as well as other open source solutions such as ispCP or ISPConfig .

In May 2010 the project was abandoned and the project websites are no longer available.

In the spring of 2009, some developers left the SysCP team, who jointly initiated a fork under the name Froxlor . Froxlor can be used as a drop-in replacement for SysCP, closes known security gaps and adds new functions.
