T&N is an American hard rock band that was founded in 2011 by three prominent (former) members of the glam metal band Dokken . The group initially called themselves “Tooth and Nail” based on the first commercially successful album of their joint original band, Dokken, but later had to forego the use of this name. Her debut album was released in October 2012.

history

In 2010 there was on the part of the musicians involved to attempt the band Dokken in their most commercially successful lineup consisting of George Lynch (guitar), Jeff Pilson ( bass ), Mick Brown (drums) and singer Don Dokken , together again to build on old successes. Ultimately, the project failed in December 2010; Don Dokken decided to continue working with the then current formation of his band.

During 2011, George Lynch worked with Pilson, Brown and Brian Tichy on new songs for his band Lynch Mob , whose singer Oni Logan did not think that this new material would fit the band. Lynch, Pilson and Brown, who had already played together for Dokken, then recorded numerous Dokken songs they had written with the participation of various guest singers such as Sebastian Bach , Doug Pinnick ( King's X ), Tim "Ripper" Owens and Geoff Tate ( Queensrÿche ), partly with changed arrangements, new on. They also recorded other newly written pieces in the line-up of Lynch, Pilson and Tichy, with Pilson taking over the vocals.

A release of the resulting material was originally planned for March 2011, but was postponed until October 2012. In the meantime, the band changed their name for legal reasons, because the music label Tooth & Nail Records owns the trademark rights to the name "Tooth and Nail" . Since then the group has been called "T&N."

The original plan to release a double album, the band gave up in favor of the possibility of bringing out two albums within a short time. The release of the debut album , which was titled Slave to the Empire , was followed by a short tour of the west coast of the USA, an appearance at the Loud Park Festival in Japan and several in Asian cities as well as a small tour in Europe .
