The Catholic parish of the Assumption of Mary in Täfertingen belongs to the parish community Neusäß in the deanery Augsburg-Land in the diocese of Augsburg . The Edenberg district of Gailenbach also belongs to the parish . The district road A 15 leads from Gablingen via Batzenhofen and Hirblingen to Täfertingen, where it joins the state road St 2032 .
history
Traces of ancient settlement can be found in the entire Augsburg area. Finds from the Urnfield Period (approx. 1300–800 BC) were also recovered in the north of Täfertingen. A Celtic or Roman settlement in the area of today's location cannot be proven. The ending "ing (en)", which is characteristic of the Swabian cultural regions, points to a Franconian or Alamannic foundation in the early Middle Ages, which took place after the end of late antiquity and the fading of Roman central power over the region.
However, "Tenefridingen" was first mentioned around 1150 in a document. The Church of the Assumption had been in the possession of the Augsburg Cathedral Chapter since 1304 ; In 1868 she came to the Heilig-Geist-Spital . In the 18th century it was a popular pilgrimage site.
The independent municipality of Täfertingen was incorporated into Neusäß on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
