Tönnies ("Antonius") Evers the Younger (* 1550 in Lübeck ; † 1613 ibid) is considered the most important Lübeck carver of the late Renaissance .

Life

Evers was the son of the carver Tönnies Evers . He learned the craft of carving in his father's workshop, but quickly gained independence and a high reputation after the wandering . He was repeatedly a senior man in the carpenter's office and left behind significant interior fittings in Lübeck, some of which, however , burned down in the Second World War as a result of the air raid on Lübeck in March 1942 . His widow married the cabinet-maker and carver Hinrich Wittekop in September 1614 .
