Wilhelmlesenberg (art historian)

Wilhelm Friedrich Eduard Theodorlesenberg (born March 30, 1885 in Kröpelin , † August 28, 1914 near Mühlen northeast of Tannenberg ) was a German art historian .

Life

Wilhelmlesenberg, son of the pharmacist Augustlesenberg, attended the Gymnasium Fridericianum in Schwerin until he graduated from high school in Easter 1905. After completing his military service, he first studied classical philology for two semesters in Rostock , then art history in Munich , Vienna and Berlin . In 1909 he stayed in Rome for study purposes and then worked on his dissertation in Schwerin. He was a member of the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology . In May 1911 he was at the University of Greifswald with Max Semrau over the castle GüstrowPhD. In the summer of 1911 he worked at the Mecklenburg State and Trade Exhibition in Schwerin and then initially became a trainee at the Museum of Art and Trade in Hamburg , then on April 1, 1912 at the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin , where he became a research assistant in April 1914. He was called up for military service and fell in the battle of Tannenberg .
