history

Former oblate monastery

Teplá was first mentioned in 1543. After the discovery of an iron spring, which was ascribed medicinal properties, in 1710, a wooden chapel was built next to the spring, which became the target of Sunday processions. The image of the Virgin Mary of Klattau in the chapel was supposed to ward off the rinderpest . A spa that was opened later existed until 1850.

In 1768 the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was replaced by a stone building, which was given its present form in 1854 with the pseudo-Romanesque portal.

Between 1926 and 1927 the Oblates built the Monastery of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, which was dissolved after the Second World War and used as a school and children's home. The building was converted into the Zámek Amadeus Hotel after 1990 and is now used as a guest house.

After the territorial reform of 1960 Teplá was incorporated with Dřinek to Třebenice . In 1991 the place had 67 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 35 houses in which 70 people lived. In 2003 a bell tower was erected in Dřinek.
