Tüschnitz is a district of the market Küps in the Upper Franconian district of Kronach in Bavaria with 812 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2007).

geography

Tüschnitz is on the KC 13 district road , which connects the town with Küps and Schmölz . In the southeast, Tüschnitz borders directly on the main town of Küps, where the Küps train station is also on the Hochstadt-Marktzeuln-Probstzella railway line .

history

Tüschnitz was first mentioned in a document in 1288. The moated castle Tüschnitz existed from the 14th century at the latest, it was destroyed in 1632 in the Thirty Years War .

In 1875 Tüschnitz had 147 inhabitants in 48 buildings, 23 of which were residential buildings, and was assigned to the Protestant churches and schools in Küps and Schmölz and the Catholic Church in Theisenort . In 1900 the rural community of Tüschnitz covered an area of ​​239.90 hectares, 179 inhabitants, 159 of whom were Protestant, and 28 residential buildings. Tüschnitz was incorporated into Küps on April 1, 1971.
