geography

Theisenort is located in the northwest of the municipality. The Theisenort forest connects to the north.

history

The settlement was first mentioned in 1257. Until 1861, the lords of the village and residents of the palace and the "Alte Wache" castle were the lords of Redwitz .

In 1970, parts of the community included the parish village of Theisenort, the two hamlets of Köhlersloh and Rödern and the wastelands of Gypsmühle, Kachelmannsberg, Lerchenhof and Schafhof. Theisenort was incorporated into Küps on May 1, 1978.

church

For the first time a chapel was built in Theisenort in 1357, which was probably destroyed by the Hussites in 1430 . In 1497 a new chapel was built. In 1610 the Knights of Redwitz built a new church at the current location, which was initially consecrated to Protestants. The first Catholic services took place at the beginning of the 18th century. On June 17, 1830, King Ludwig I established the Catholic parish of Theisenort by decree, to which Küps was affiliated four years later . A little later an organ was installed in the church. In 1861 Oskar and Karl von Redwitz donated the Church, consecrated to the Holy Trinity, to the Catholic parish. The church was renovated in 1967 and 1968 and consecrated the following year. Today, in addition to the Catholic services, there are also Protestant services in the church once a month.
