TV8 is a private Turkish television broadcaster of Acun Medya and Doğuş Holding based in Istanbul .
Foundation and organization
TV8 was founded on February 22nd, 1999 by Mehmet Nazif Günal and his MNG Medya . November 2013, 70% of the shares in TV8 were acquired by Acun Ilıcalı and its Acun Medya. 30% went to Doğuş Holding.
TV program
From 1999 to 2013 the TV program of TV8 consisted of magazines, international TV series (e.g. Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei ( Kobra Takibi , 2011-2013) and Flashpoint - Das Spezialkommando ), comedy programs, music programs, talk shows and entertainment programs. In addition, the sports program Spor Bülteni was shown from 1999 to 2013 , the successful sports program Telegol from 2012 to 2013 (previously Star TV (1998–2007), Kanal 1 (2007), Kanaltürk (2007–2012)) and other sports programs. The following news programs were also broadcast until 2013:

After Ilıcalı bought the station, all news programs were removed from the program because he wanted to convert the station into a pure entertainment station. All the newsroom staff lost their jobs. All sports programs , with the exception of Bay Tahmin (since 2006) and the 8th stage , were also withdrawn from the program.
After the takeover by Ilıcalı, all Acun Medya formats switched to TV8. The following formats migrated from Star TV to TV8:

- Survivor Türkiye (Turkish version of Survivor )
- Hülya Avşar Show (entertainment show) (previously on TNT Türkiye)
Until then, the program is filled with old episodes and old programs that are or have been produced by Acun Medya. At the end of 2013 it was announced that Saba Tümer , a popular entertainment presenter in Turkey, would switch to TV8 with her programs. In addition, Ilıcalı has secured the broadcasting rights for the Spanish , English and Italian football leagues. He has also secured the rights to the UEFA Champions League , UEFA Europa League and Formula 1 .
In addition to the formats mentioned, Ilıcalı has secured the rights to Utopia from Talpa Media and the rights to Rising Star from Keshet .

TV8 can be received via Türksat 4A in Europe and Turkey. The program is broadcast on Türksat 4A 42 ° Ost on 12.034 GHz vertically (symbol rate: 27,500).
TV8 int
The station has had a European branch since the 2014/15 TV season. Turks living in Europe have their own program window under the name TV8 int with magazines and their own advertising.
TV8 HD
Since February 2015, the tv8 program has also been broadcast encrypted in HD.
