Tackleberry was a German hardcore punk band from Kiel , Schleswig-Holstein , which had existed since 2004 .

history

The band Tackleberry was founded in 2004 in the capital of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. According to the group, they did not find each other directly - as is often claimed - via advertisements. In the same year the band released the demo The losers win it all someday .

After the founding of the group, there were several line-up changes, especially on the guitars. In 2006 two split CDs were released, one with Cut..n..Run , the other with The Force Within . The group also toured with What we feel through the Ukraine and Russia .

Two years later, Call me Green, the band's first album, was released on the well-known hardcore / punk label Zeitstrafe. The record received a lot of attention in German-speaking countries and was often rated very positively.

After the band toured Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic with Paint It Black and Trash Talk in 2008 , the second album Reinventing Appetite for Destruction was released the following year , which made the band even better known in hardcore / punk circles.

In 2009 Tackleberry went on tour with the group Smoke Blow, also from Kiel, and also released a split CD with them.

On August 5th, 2012 the band announced on their Facebook page that they would split up at the end of 2012 and announced a 7 "and some last concerts. Today Mäxchen and Peder play together with the Arterials, while Hannes with the German-speaking bands Die Bullen and Monkey knife fight is active as a singer.

style

Basically, the style of the band can be described as classic hardcore punk . In addition to the precisely played melody and rhythm lines of the guitars, the singing of singer Hannes is also characteristic.

The band deliberately puts their own and modern-looking hardcore sound in a certain line of classic hardcore punks. On the MySpace page of the band is to read this:

The band is compared with Paint It Black or Kid Dynamite , for example , but also with From Ashes Rise. In terms of content, the band has a strong (left) political orientation and its lyrics often deal with anti-capitalist and anti-fascist topics. Tours, like in 2006 for the Russian Antifa , also paint the picture of a politically more active group.

The Ox-Fanzine says about the classification of the band:
