Elliott started in January 2007 for the first time in the US Super Tour and came 64th place over 10 km classic. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2007 in Tarvisio , he finished 64th over 10 km freestyle. In January 2009 he won 23rd place in the skiathlon and 21st place over 15 km freestyle at the U23 World Championships 2009 . In the 2009/10 season came in the US Super Tour three times in second and once in first place and thus reached fourth place in the overall standings. At the U23 World Championships in 2010 in Hinterzarten , he achieved 33rd place over 15 km classic and 21st place in skiathlon. In February 2010 he made his debut in Canmore in the cross-country skiing world cup and finished 57th in the 15 km freestyle. In the following season he won the US Super Tour three times and came third once, reaching fifth place in the overall standings. In January 2011 he achieved 33rd place in the skiathlon and 19th place in the 15 km freestyle at the 2011 U23 World Championships in Otepää . At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , he finished 55th in the skiathlon, 40th in the 50 km mass start race and 14th in the relay. After 95th place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, he took his first World Cup points in Davos with 27th place over 30 km freestyle. In January 2012 he won the US Super Tour and at the same time national championship in Rumford and finished second in Minneapolis in each of the 15 km freestyle. At the end of the season, like last year, he was fifth in the overall ranking of the US Super Tour. In the 2012/13 season he came in 77th place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo and again took World Cup points in Canmore with 28th place in the skiathlon. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Fiemme Valley were 34th place over 15 km freestyle and tenth place with the relay. He finished the Ski Tour Canada 2016 in 51st place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , he reached 48th place in the skiathlon, 27th place in the 50 km mass start race and tenth place with the relay.
