The Tafara is a river in the municipality of Cova Lima ( East Timor ) that carries water all year round.

course

The northernmost origin is the Apatopol , which rises in Suco Holpilat . It follows the border between the Sucos Holpilat and Taroman , then the border between Dato Tolu and Ogues , where tributaries meet the Apatopol from both sides. From here on the river is called Asaematen . Further south it now separates the Sucos Debos and Fohoren until the Maubui meets it. From here the river is called Tafara.

The Maubui comes from the west. It rises in Suco Nanu and then flows east through Nanu. Then the Maubui forms the border between Dato Rua and Fohoren in the north and Beiseuc (formerly Foholulik ) and Lalawa in the south.

The Masai rises in Belulic Leten and flows eastwards and then separates the sucos nanu and fatumea . Then the river swings south and forms the western border from Nanu to Suco Dato Rua until it finally reaches the Maubui. In the border area between the Sucos Dato Rua and Fohoren the Bora rises , which flows south along the border and then flows into the Maubui. The Kalao comes from Beiseuc and also flows into the Maubui. Coming from Fohoren the Nanamauk flows into the Maubui. The Nanamauk arises in the Suco Dato Tolu.

The Tafara initially forms the border between the Sucos Lalawa and Debos and then swings to the southeast, where it joins the border between Debos and Suai Loro in the north and Maudemo and Casabauc in the south, until it finally flows into the Timor Sea at Cape Tafara .
