Takako Oguchi ( Japanese 小 口 貴子 , Oguchi Takako ; born Takako Ōmukai , Japanese 大 向 貴子 , Ōmukai Takako ; born August 8, 1984 in Wajima ) is a Japanese skeleton pilot .
Career
Takako Oguchi started in an international skeleton race for the first time in 2005 - still under her maiden name Ōmukai - and was 18th at the America's Cup in Calgary. In the same season, she also took part in the Junior World Championships and finished 17th. In the following winter she started in three races in the America's Cup and was ninth twice in Lake Placid . In the following two years she did not take part in international races. In 2009/10 she returned to the America's Cup and reached third place once and fourth place three times, making her fourth overall. In the two following seasons she took part in the European Cup and achieved an eighth place in 2010/11 and a ninth place in 2011/12 .
In the 2012/13 season she moved up to the higher-class Intercontinental Cup and recorded her best result in the last race of the season with 10th place in Winterberg . After her debut in the World Cup at the end of 2013, in which she finished two 19th and one 23rd place in three races in North America, she returned to the Intercontinental Cup , finishing in ninth place once in Whistler . A year later, she started exclusively in the World Cup for the first time , where she achieved her best result to date with 13th place in St. Moritz and finished the overall World Cup in 19th place after having participated in six of eight races of the season. At the Skeleton World Championships 2015 in Winterberg, she was 24.
She married in June 2015 and has been surnamed Oguchi ever since.
At Japanese championships , Oguchi won four silver and five bronze medals between 2008 and 2016.
