Take Over and Destroy (abbreviation: TOAD ) is an American metal and rock band from Phoenix , Arizona that was formed in 2008.

history

The band was formed in 2008. In the following time the band organized several tours of their own and also went on a US tour with Agrimonia and Year of No Light . There was also a split release with Drone Throne in 2009 , an EP called Rotten Tide in 2011, a split release in 2012 with VON and the debut album Endless Night in 2013. The second album Vacant Face was released a year later . In 2015 the album was released as a record version on Pulverised Records .

style

Rock Hard's Gretha Breuer wrote about the band's music as " Black Metal meets Rock- Riffs " where "a psychedelic organ" meets growls and a punk version of Andrew Eldritch . The band themselves describe their music as "[an] American rock 'n' roll band from the seventies, trapped in the body of a Scandinavian metal band from the early nineties that set a John Carpenter film to music". Breuer had reviewed Vacant Face an issue earlier . In the title song, the group introduced clear vocals, which would bring out Gothic features. In addition, black metal blast beats and rock riffs and organ would be processed. In addition, Tiamat is dragged onto the operetta stage. During the growls you switch between offbeat and playful melodies. The rock riffs from the song Deep End would briefly remind you of Kvelertak .
