Tamara Dobson

Tamara Dobson (born May 14, 1947 , Baltimore , Maryland , † October 2, 2006 ) was an American actress and model .

After completing school, Dobson worked as a beautician and graduated from the Maryland Institute of Art as a fashion illustrator . After she got a job as a photo model because of her height (1.87 m), she came to New York, where she a. a. worked for Vogue and appeared in commercials. She worked for Fabergé , Revlon and Chanel .

In 1972 she received her first film role alongside Yul Brynner and Burt Reynolds in Death On Quiet and other minor roles in films that starred in the two Cleopatra Jones films A Case for Cleopatra Jones (1973) and Cleopatra Jones against the Dragon Lady (1975). Both films, as well as Norman ... is that you? were part of the series of blaxploitation films. After this wave of films subsided, Dobson was also quiet again. She switched to television. It was only seen again in the cinema in 1983. She starred alongside Stella Stevens and Linda Blair in the sexploitation film The Women's Camp . She had her last role in 1984 in the television film Ring of the Amazons , again at the side of Stella Stevens.

Dobson suffered from multiple sclerosis and died in 2006 at the age of 59.
