Tamara Myers (born July 27, 1993 in New Providence ) is a Bahamian triple jumper .

Athletic career

Tamara Myers gained her first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2008 in Basseterre , where she won the silver medal in the triple jump with 11.55 m, as well as at the CARIFTA Games the following year in Vieux Fort with 11.70 m and the Games 2011 in Montego Bay with 12.35 m. There she also started with the Bahamian 4 x 100 meter relay, but was disqualified. Then she finished sixth at the Central America and Caribbean Games (CAC) in Mayagüez with 12.45 m and won the silver medal at the Pan American Junior Championships in Miramar with a width of 12.85 m. In 2012 she won the silver medal in the triple jump at the CARIFTA Games in Hamilton with 11.62 m and was fourth in the long jump with 5.63 m. She then won the long jump at the CAC Junior Championships in San Salvador with 6.02 m and won bronze with 12.42 m in the triple jump. The following year she won the CAC Championships in Morelia with 13.18 m and classified in the long jump with 5.79 m in seventh place.

In 2014 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow for the first time, but could not qualify for the finals in either discipline. In 2015 she was tenth at the Pan American Games in Toronto with 13.57 m and fourth at the NACAC Championships in San José with 13.78 m. In 2017 she took part in the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 13.41 m . In 2018 she took part again in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and finished ninth with a jump of 13.15 m.

From 2013 to 2016 and 2018, Myers was Bahamian triple jump champion. She graduated from the University of Arkansas .
