The Tandy Video Information System (also known as Memorex VIS or Memorex MD 2500 Visual Information System ) is a multimedia system that was launched in the USA in 1992 and also served as a game console .

description

The system appeared exclusively in the USA in the summer of 1992 and could best be compared with the CD-i from Philips or Magnavox . The kernel of the operating system was based on Microsoft Windows 3.1 . Games were not compatible with the PC and vice versa. The device was only sold in Radio Shack stores, which, in addition to the small selection of software and the high price (699 US dollars, later 399 US dollars), was rather detrimental to its success. Thus the Memorex VIS disappeared again from the market.
