Tanit Koch

Tanit Koch (born August 2, 1977 in Konstanz ) is a German journalist . She was editor-in-chief of the tabloid Bild from January 1, 2016 to February 28, 2018 . Since March 1, 2019 she has been managing director of n-tv and editor-in-chief of the central editorial office of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland .

Professional career

Tanit Koch grew up in Bonn , graduated from St. Columba's College in Dublin and then studied political science and law . The topic of her legal master's thesis at the University of Tübingen in 2002, entitled In dubio pro communitate ?, was the role of the European Court of Justice and its relationship to the Federal Constitutional Court against the background of European unification.

From 2005 to 2006 she did a traineeship at the Axel Springer Academy and in the Politics and Economics department of Bild . From 2007, she worked there for two years for the then editor-in-chief Kai Diekmann as his office manager . From 2009 to 2010 she was the editor in charge of special tasks in the editor-in-chief of the Welt -Gruppe, then head of text for Bild . From 2011 Koch headed the editorial department of the Hamburg edition and thus also became a member of the chief editor. From February 2013 she was deputy editor-in-chief of Bild and headed the entertainment department. On January 1, 2016, she took over the position of editor-in-chief from Kai Diekmann. Due to a dispute with Julian Reichelt , she left the editorial team and the publishing house on March 1, 2018.

In 2017 and 2018, Koch was part of the main jury for the award of the Nannen Prize .

Tanit Koch is a member of the Tübingen student association Akademische Gesellschaft Stuttgardia . She is a board member of the Hamburg Press Club and the Deutschlandstiftung Integration . She was a scholarship holder of the FDP-affiliated Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and Young Leader of the transatlantic organization Atlantik-Brücke .
