Goals and projects of the foundation

The foundation promotes diversity in Germany with various projects and advocates equal opportunities for access to education, work and social participation as the basis for successful integration . The Go Your Way Scholarship program , which has existed since 2012, is aimed at schoolchildren, trainees and students between the ages of 16 and 29 and is intended to support them on their career path. The foundation relies on the cooperation of mentors from business, politics and culture. You take on the role of your personal coach. They include Franziska Giffey , Federal Minister for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth , the former CEO of Thyssenkrupp , Heinrich Hiesinger , and the journalist and former Bunte editor-in-chief Patricia Riekel .

Together with the GEH DEINEN WEG scholarship holders, the foundation initiated the social media campaign AuchichbinDeutschland . The ad hoc campaign on social media calls on people with a history of immigration to document their experiences with everyday racism in a photo post. This is intended to initiate a discussion on the topics of “being German” and “everyday racism”.

The slogan "graced" footballers' chests. Together with the German Football League and the Bundesliga Foundation , the foundation organized a day of action in 2012, during which the 18 Bundesliga clubs and their sponsors waived commercial advertising for one match day and instead showed GO YOUR WAY on their jerseys. In doing so, they took a position for equal opportunities for people with an immigrant background.

In 2009 the advertising campaign “Out with the language, Rein into life” was initiated. In the, celebrities with a history of immigration stuck out their tongues and promoted learning the German language.

In 2019, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Basic Law on May 23, 2019, the Deutschlandstiftung Integration, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs and in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, launched the national publicity campaign “Mein Deutschland. I live here on good ground. ” Started. In it, people with migration biographies advertise the Basic Law. Ambassadors for individual articles or paragraphs are, for example, the Holocaust survivor Margot Friedländer or the devout Muslim and German boxing champion Zeina Nassar .
