Tanju Öztürk (born July 26, 1989 in Cologne ) is a German soccer player . His preferred position is the defensive midfield.
Career
After various youth clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia , Öztürk joined the U-19 team at MSV Duisburg in 2006 . Here he played for two years until he moved up to the second team and became a regular player. Öztürk made his first appearance in the 2nd Bundesliga for MSV on March 18, 2012 in a 2-1 home win against VfL Bochum , when he came on for Maurice Exslager in the 88th minute . In total, he came to eight season appearances in the second division. For the 2012/13 season he moved up firmly to the Duisburg professional squad.
In January 2015 Öztürk left MSV Duisburg and moved to FC Schalke 04 , with whose second team he played in the Regionalliga West . In the summer of 2016, the former Bundesliga club KFC Uerdingen announced its commitment. With the KFC he celebrated the championship of the Oberliga Niederrhein 2016/17 and rose to the regional league. On January 29, 2019, the association announced Öztürk's exemption.
Tanju Öztürk moved to FC Hansa Rostock within the league at the end of January 2019 . He played a total of 31 competitive games for the Ostseestädter, including 25 third division games (one goal), one in the DFB Cup against second division club VfB Stuttgart and five in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Cup (one goal), which was also won in 2019. Two game days before the end of the third division 2019/20 season, Öztürk ended his arrangement in Rostock according to his contract term.
