Maurice Exslager (born February 12, 1991 in Bocholt ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with 1. FC Bocholt since July 2019 .

Career

societies

Via the youth stations SV Biemenhorst, 1. FC Bocholt and TuB Bocholt , Exslager switched to the A-youth of MSV Duisburg in 2008 . In his first season he became a regular player and came to 25 missions in which he scored 13 goals. In the 2009/10 season he played 18 games in the U-19 Bundesliga and scored 14 goals. Because of his achievements, Exslager was appointed to the first team squad for the first time on April 16. In the 2-0 defeat at FC Augsburg , however, he was not used. On the following day he was substituted in for Burakcan Kunt in the game against SC Paderborn 07 after half- time. Five minutes after being substituted on, he scored the interim 1: 1 with his first goal for the professionals.

Maurice Exslager made his debut in the DFB-Pokal in the 2nd round of the 2010/11 cup competition in a 3-0 win against Halleschen FC . With MSV Duisburg, after further victories over 1. FC Köln (2: 1), 1. FC Kaiserslautern (2: 0) and Energie Cottbus (2: 1), he reached the cup final in Berlin on May 21, 2011 against FC Schalke 04 with 0: 5 was lost.

After MSV Duisburg's license revocation in summer 2013, Exslager moved to 1. FC Köln for the 2013/14 season , with whom he signed a contract until June 30, 2016. The following year he switched to SV Darmstadt 98 on loan . There he was on the field 12 times and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with the team.

At the beginning of July 2015 he returned to Cologne and was henceforth used in the second billy goat team . In the Regionalliga West he helped the Cologne reserve to stay up with ten goals this season. In the 2016/17 season he was under contract with third division club 1. FC Magdeburg , in January 2017 he moved to Fortuna Cologne. In his second league game for Fortuna against Wehen Wiesbaden (0-0), Exslager tore a cruciate and ligament tear , which meant the end of the season for him.

For the 2019/20 season , Exslager returned to his hometown after the relegation of Fortuna and signed a two-year contract with the first division club 1. FC Bocholt .

National team

In March 2011, Exslager was appointed to the U-20 national team for the first time by DFB coach Frank Wormuth . On March 24, 2011 in a 1-1 draw against Poland , he made his international debut .

Private

Exslager is Catholic and describes himself as a very devout person who often goes to church before games. Parallel to his current football involvement with 1. FC Bocholt, he works as a financial advisor at Deutsche Vermögensberatung .
