Tarassiwka ( Ukrainian Тарасівка ; Russian Тарасовка Tarassowka ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Poltava with about 1000 inhabitants (2001).
In 1922 individual farmsteads were combined to form a village and named after the Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko . Tarasiwka is the only village in the 43.182 km² district council of the same name in the north of Hrebinka district .
The village is located at an altitude of 116 m on the bank of the Slyporyd , an 83 km long right tributary of the Sula , 12 km north of the Hrebinka district center and about 200 km northwest of the Poltava oblast center .
Tarasivka has a train station on the Odessa - Cherkassy - Pryluky - Chernihiv - Belarus line . Territorial road T-17-10 runs east of the village .
