Tatiana Pavlovna Kashdan

Tatiana Pawlowna Kaschdan , born Tatiana Pawlowna Schipowskaja , ( Russian Татьяна Павловна Каждан ; * February 15, 1918 in Moscow ; † January 30, 2009 ibid) was a Soviet - Russian architect and architectural historian .

Life

Kashdan graduated from the Faculty of Residential and Public Buildings of the Moscow Architecture Institute ( MArchI ).

After the start of the German-Soviet war Kaschdan worked in the design office Giproawiaprom in Kazan , the Trust Karagandaschachtprojekt in Karaganda , in the Moscow department of the trusts shaft project (from 1946) and Mosugleprojekt . She planned the construction of residential buildings for workers' housing estates and industrial objects.

In 1947 Kashdan became an aspirant of Igor Emmanuilowitsch Grabar at the Moscow Institute for Art History of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR, since 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)) and examined the work of Vasily Ivanovich Bashenov . In 1952 she successfully defended her candidate dissertation on the work of Bashenov.

In 1954, Kaschdan became a research assistant in the sector for Russian art and architecture of the 18th and 20th centuries . Century of the Institute for Art History of the AN-SSSR. She was involved in the preparation of the publication of the multi-volume work on Russian art history, and she prepared the publication of the letters and the scientific legacy of IE Grabar.

Kashdan published many of his own studies on the history of Russian architecture and the culture of the mansions of the merchant class and the nobility. In particular, she researched the works of architects WI Baschenow, Johann Friedrich Blank , Karl Blank and Iwan Petrowitsch Scherebzow .

Kaschdan was 1965-1975 deputy of Moscow Rajon - Soviets and engaged in settlement problems. Since 1970 she lived at Gagarinski-Gasse 27. In 1992 she became a member of the executive board of the Society for the Study of Russian Mansions.

Kashdan was married to Abram Issaakowitsch Kaschdan (1907–1955), who taught at the Moscow State Institute for Theater Arts . Her daughter was the architect Natalija Abramovna Kashdan .

Kaschdan was at the Moscow Vvedenskoye Cemetery buried.
