development

In 1988 and 1989, four prototypes of the Tatra T7B5 tram were produced. In contrast to the older predecessors, it is not controlled with pedals, but with a setpoint generator. Compared to the predecessor T6B5 , the T7B5 have improved bogies and improved suspension. The first two cars 0024 and 0025 were tested in Prague . Two more with the numbers 0026 and 0027 were tested in Most and delivered to Moscow in 1989 , where the tram type was to replace the older T6B5 vehicles. In Moscow they were put into regular service with the numbers 7001 and 7002. In April 1991 the 0025 car was loaned to the Norwegian capital, Oslo, where it was fitted with upholstered seats. After testing it, it was used as a party car until 1998 under the number 321. Then it was handed over to Gothenburg in November 1998 , where it was also used as a party car under the number 100. The two prototypes from Moscow were given the new numbers 3321 and 3322 in 1994. The 3321 car is now in the Moscow Tram Museum .

The prototypes were only followed by a relatively small series of four cars (7003–7006), all of which came to Moscow. In 1994 the four cars were given the new car numbers 3321–3326. The two prototypes have served as spare parts dispensers since 2003. The 3324 trolley has also been used as a spare parts dispenser since 2007. The 3326 car is in the Moscow Tram Museum and has the number 3321.

In June 2009, only car 3323 was still on the line in Moscow.
