Dumpling
Dumpling is an umbrella term for dishes with different fillings that are common in many countries around the world.
The dough made from flour or durum wheat semolina , water , salt and sometimes eggs is rolled out flat and portioned. Some dough is topped with the desired filling, closed more or less artfully and then boiled, steamed, fried or deep-fried. Because of the ease of preparation and the wide range of possible variations, dumplings have been widespread all over the world for centuries. It is not yet clear whether the European versions were created independently of the Asian versions.
