Telesforo Giovanni Cioli

Telesforo Giovanni Cioli OCarm (born April 21, 1907 in Busche di Gualdo Tadino , † January 15, 2002 ) was Bishop of Arezzo-Cortona-Sansepolcro .

Life

Telesforo Giovanni Cioli joined the Congregation of the Carmelites at and received on 15 March 1930, the priestly ordination .

Pius XII. appointed him on September 5, 1956 coadjutor bishop of Arezzo and titular bishop of Livias . The secretary of the Holy Consistorial Congregation , Adeodato Giovanni Cardinal Piazza OCD , ordained him episcopal on October 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Luigi Traglia , Viceregente for the Diocese of Rome , and Giuseppe Franciolini , emeritus coadjutor bishop of Arezzo.

After the death of Emanuele Mignone, he succeeded him on December 23, 1961 as Bishop of Arezzo. He attended all the sessions of the Second Vatican Council . The Pope appointed him Bishop of Sansepolcro (Borgo San Sepolcro) on October 7, 1975 . Paul VI appointed him on February 15, 1978 Bishop of Cortona . On April 11, 1983, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
