Tell It to My Heart is a song by Taylor Dayne from the year 1987 , which was written by Seth Swirsky and Ernie gold. It appeared on the album of the same name.
history
Originally the song was supposed to be published by Warner Music Group , but since Swirsky's point of view it was not suitable for the label, another label was consulted. When the songwriters listened to some of Taylor Dayne's demos, the original was recorded with her, and Clive Davis sent Dayne a record deal with Arista Records by sending a copy of the demo . The recordings took place at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove , New York .
The release took place in July 1987, in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, the dance song became a number one hit. In 1988 the song was nominated for the Grammy Awards in the category Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female , but it lost to the Tracy Chapman classic Fast Car .
Music video
A very low budget was invested in the music video and the plot is also kept very simple - Taylor Dayne dances with two background dancers in black clothes against a white background.
