Mount Tellberg has a summit height of 309  m above sea level. NN and is part of the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park . It is located in the municipality of Krauthausen west of the Deubachshof district and extends to the outskirts of Spichra on the eastern edge of the Werra valley around Creuzburg in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

The federal road 7 runs along the eastern flank of the Tellberg, the state road L 1017 runs along the south side. The Tellberg is used for agriculture. There are several abandoned quarries in the summit and on the west side. A former watchtower of the GDR border fortifications is located on the mountain top as a “memorial” . From the mountain you also had a clear view of the GÜST Wartha border crossing opposite.
