Teodoro Enrique Pino Miranda

Teodoro Enrique Pino Miranda (born December 1, 1946 in Cucurpe , Sonora State , Mexico , † July 2, 2020 in Huajuapan de León ) was a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Huajuapan de León .

Life

Teodoro Enrique Pino Miranda entered the Diocesan Seminary in Hermosillo, Sonora, in 1959. On April 2, 1972, in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, Archbishop Carlos Quintero Arce gave him the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Hermosillo . He held various diocesan positions, in particular as vicar of pastoral care. From 1985 to 1986 he completed a degree in social media at the Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome . Pino Miranda was pastor of Hermosillo Cathedral.

On December 2, 2000, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Huajuapan de León. The Archbishop of Hermosillo, José Ulises Macías Salcedo , donated him episcopal ordination on January 31, 2001 ; Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Hermosillo, Carlos Quintero Arce , and the Bishop of Tehuantepec , Felipe Padilla Cardona . His episcopal motto was “I came to give them life” (Jn 10:10).

As a bishop, Teodoro Pino Miranda was an extraordinary means of communication beyond the borders of the diocese and was considered the Mexican bishop of the new evangelization and social communication. For many years he was president of the Episcopal Commission on Means of Communication in the Mexican Episcopal Conference. He was also a member of the Episcopal Commissions for Pastoral Care for Social Communication and the Indigenous Commission.

He died at the age of 73 years from the effects of cancer .
