José Ulises Macías Salcedo

José Ulises Macías Salcedo (born October 29, 1940 in León , Mexico ) is a Mexican clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Hermosillo .

Life

José Ulises Macías Salcedo studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . He received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of León on April 10, 1966 . José Ulises Macías Salcedo holds a degree in philosophy.

On June 14, 1984 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Mexicali . The Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Girolamo Prigione , donated him episcopal ordination on July 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were his predecessor, the Bishop of Tlalnepantla , Manuel Pérez-Gil y González , and the Bishop of León, Anselmo Zarza Bernal .

On August 20, 1996, John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Hermosillo . The inauguration took place on October 29 of the same year.

On February 26, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
