History of each company

Atlas-Terex 1105 M.

Atlas Weyhausen GmbH

The company was founded in 1919 by Hinrich Weyhausen as an agricultural machinery company. In 1936 the company became known under the ATLAS trademark. In 1950 the company turned to construction machinery and introduced the first fully hydraulic excavator ; In addition to excavators, Atlas also produced light wheel loaders and truck loading cranes. In 1986 "ATLAS" became part of the company name; Hinrich WEYHAUSEN KG became ATLAS Weyhausen GmbH . In 2002 Terex GmbH took over the excavators and loading cranes divisions from Atlas Weyhausen GmbH. The wheel loader division was not taken over and is still independent as Atlas Weyhausen GmbH (under the Atlas Weycor brand).

The division has been independent since April 2010 and is no longer a part of the Terex Group. Since then, the company has been operating as Atlas Maschinen GmbH with operations in Delmenhorst (cranes), Ganderkesee (excavators) and Vechta (cylinders).

O&K Mining GmbH

The roots of Orenstein & Koppel OHG (O&K) go back to the year 1876. First light railways were produced; This was followed later by the construction of robust light rail locomotives , until the first bucket chain excavators were built after the turn of the century, initially made of wood and from 1904 "entirely from Eysen". In 1908 the first backhoe was developed. This was followed by further motorization and the production of bucket wheel excavators , until later hydraulic excavators were developed that were brought to series production. On April 1, 1998, Terex GmbH took over O&K Mining GmbH and also the production of heavy hydraulic excavators for open pit mining from the traditional German manufacturer Orenstein & Koppel (O&K).

Karl Schaeff GmbH & Co

The history of the Karl Schaeff company began in 1937 as a repair shop for agricultural machinery . Later one devoted to the construction of chargers. What was particularly innovative at the time was the development of the Knickmatik technology, which made it possible for an excavator to work on both sides of the road because the shovel could be operated in a radius of 180 degrees. Schaeff also produced wheel loaders, backhoe loaders and mini excavators . Further modernizations and corporate takeovers followed, such as B. 1985 Johannes Fuchs KG . Schaeff has been part of the Terex Group since 2002.

Johannes Fuchs KG

The master blacksmith Johannes Fuchs has been producing agricultural equipment in Hemmingen since 1888 . From 1950 the production of the small excavator D 1 followed, two years later the first self-propelled, pneumatic universal machine D 3 up to the serial production of hydraulic excavators. 1985 was Johannes Fuchs KG from the Long Burger Company Co. Karl Schaeff GmbH & accepted.

Kaelble Baumaschinen- und Reparaturgesellschaft mbH

The company was founded in Cannstatt in 1884 as a repair workshop for tannery and steam engines by Caroline and Gottfried Kaelble. After moving from Cannstatt to Backnang , the company became known as a construction machine, engine and commercial vehicle manufacturer and above all for its tractors for road scooters .
