Terry Trotter
Terry William Trotter (born May 10, 1940 in Los Angeles ) is an American jazz and studio musician (piano and vocals). He lives in Los Angeles.
Live and act
According to his own account, he grew up in Glendale , a town in California . His mother was a pianist; his sister is the opera singer Linda Trotter. He received piano lessons from the age of five. From 1955 he played professionally, initially with Charles Lloyd and Don Cherry . Then he worked with Bobby Hutcherson , the Lighthouse All-Stars , Lena Horne and Joe Pass . Between 1968 and 1973 he accompanied Chet Baker ; until the 1980s he was part of Charlie Shoemake's band , and from 1984 to that of Larry Carlton.
He has made records with well-known artists such as Frank Sinatra , Ella Fitzgerald , Natalie Cole , Celine, producer David Foster and many others.
Trotter is best known to the general public for the theme music from the sitcom All Love Raymond .
He also played his own albums, such as It's About Time from 1993, where he not only appeared as a pianist, but also sang a few pieces himself, as was the case in 1999 for the Sondheim Collection album . In 2010 he released the jazz album Live @ Charlie O's together with Chuck Berghofer and Peter Erskine .
