Tesfay Medhin

Tesfay Medhin , also Tesfaselassie Medhin , (born January 8, 1953 in Alitena , Ethiopia ) is Bishop of the Eparchy Adigrat of the Ethiopian Catholic Church .

Life

Tesfay Medhin was ordained a priest on April 4, 1980 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him the sixth Bishop of the Eparchy Adigrat of the Ethiopian Catholic Church in 2001. He was ordained bishop on January 20, 2002 by the Archbishop of Addis Ababa , Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel CM ; Co-consecrators were his predecessor Kidane-Mariam Teklehaimanot, who died in 2009, and Bishop Yohannes Woldegiorgis , Vicar Apostolic of Meki .

He is a member of the administrative board of the Association of Bishops' Conferences of East Africa (AMECEA) and also represents Ethiopia in the AMECEA. Under his patronage was the OVC project, which from 2010 in cooperation with the Rahel educational project supported disadvantaged young people - mostly young women - in Adigrat during their studies or training.
