Tesfaye Tafa

Tesfaye Tafa (born November 15, 1962 ) is a former Ethiopian long-distance runner .

At the World Cross Country Championships in 1989 in Stavanger, he finished fifth in the endurance race and took third place in the team standings with Ethiopia. The following year he reached 14th place in the individual ranking at the World Cross Country Championships in Aix-les-Bains and won silver with the team. He finished eleventh in the Boston Marathon and gold in the marathon of the African Athletics Championships in Cairo .

In 1991 he was seventh in Boston and won the Amsterdam Marathon , in 1992 he was tenth in Boston and fourth in the Beijing Marathon . At the 1993 IAAF World Cup marathon held as part of the San Sebastián Marathon , he came 14th with his personal best of 2:11:57 h.

In 1998 he finished third in the Vienna City Marathon .
