Tessa de Loo (born October 15, 1946 in Bussum , Netherlands ) is the pseudonym of the Dutch writer Johanna Tineke Duyvené de Wit .

De Loo studied Dutch language and literature in Utrecht . After several years of teaching, Tessa de Loo published her first volume of short stories in 1983, Die Mädchen von der Süßwarenfabrik , for which she was awarded the Golden Dog-Ear . Her novel Die Zwillinge won the Von der Gablentz Prize and the Publieksprijs in 1994 and was filmed in 2002 under the direction of Ben Sombogaart with Thekla Reuten , Ellen Vogel , Nadja Uhl and Gudrun Okras in the leading roles.

Tessa de Loo was married and has one son. She lives in Portugal .
