Tessenberg is a fraction of the municipality of Heinfels in East Tyrol.
The place east of Heinfels was first mentioned in 1266 as Tessenperch . Between 1810 and 1813 Tessenberg belonged to Sillian , but became an independent municipality with the municipality division of 1817. Tessenberg was united with Strassen in 1939 and was independent again from 1949. Since 1974 Tessenberg has been united with the much larger Panzendorf , which together form the community of Heinfels.
The altitude of Tessenberg is 1340 m, the total area 589 hectares, with 356 hectares being used for agriculture and 224 hectares for forestry. 9 hectares are wasteland.
