action

Underage Debbie Strand is being cared for by her grandmother Fiona in Los Angeles after her mother and boyfriend are killed in an unexplained fire in their own home. Her grandmother, an ultra-conservative religious fundamentalist, tries to raise Debbie through “punitive therapy”. When Debbie meets her English teacher Peter Rinaldi on her first day at the new high school, she falls in love with him and immediately tries to win him over. However, Peter is engaged to Marilyn and rejects Debbie's attempts several times. However, Peter realizes very quickly that his life is falling apart and that the people around him are cruelly killed. Debbie enters Marilyn's home to wipe her out and knocks her out after a brief chase.

background

The film describes the clinical picture of erotomania , the irresistible love for an unreachable person. It mainly affects young women who have a man of high social status such as a teacher, lawyer or artist. In the film, Debbie suffers from a lack of affection after her parents' deaths and finds her idol in her teacher.

synchronization

In the German version, Rose McGowan (as Debbie Strand) is dubbed by Carola Ewert and Krissy Carlson (as Meegan Wright) by Melanie Hinze .

criticism

"Rose McGowan [...] is the focus of a typical US suburban setting, a psychological thriller of the brand 'disturbed Lolita on the murder train'. Director Steve Cohen, up to now a reliable supplier of mediocre B-actionware, is serving his best film to date, even if clichés are in line and the resolution should not surprise anyone. "
