The Thuringian Court of Audit is a supreme state authority in Thuringia with its seat in Ludwigsburg Palace in Rudolstadt . Its task is the independent external financial control of the authorities of the state and individual other corporations under public law. He is independent of instructions and only subject to the law.

Article 103 of the Constitution of the Free State of Thuringia (ThVerf) is the basis for the work of the Court of Auditors .

The main task of the Thuringian Court of Auditors is to audit the budget and economic management of the state, including its special assets and operations.

The Thuringian Court of Auditors is headed by a President, who in turn is represented by a Vice President. The President's administration is supported by a presidential department; the audit tasks are divided between a total of four departments.
