The Court of Berlin (RHvB) According to Art. 95 Constitution of Berlin , an independent, the law only subject supreme state authority. It was established on January 17, 1952 by resolution of the Berlin House of Representatives . Since the summer of 2017, the Berlin Court of Audit has had its headquarters in the former office building of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in the Spreebogen in Berlin-Moabit.

tasks

It is the task of the Court of Auditors to examine the entire budget and economic management of Berlin. The aim is to examine the correctness and efficiency of budgetary and economic management and to discover and uncover undesirable developments. The audit office itself determines the time, type and scope of the audits carried out. It summarizes its results in an annual report to the Berlin House of Representatives and makes them available to the public. The President directs the activities of the Court of Auditors, manages its administration and represents it externally. The Court of Auditors is divided into six different audit areas and a presidential department.

Legal bases

The legal basis for the work of the Court of Auditors is the constitution of Berlin , the Court of Auditors Act, the Budget Principles Act and the State Budget Code. The internal affairs and working methods of the Court of Audit are regulated by its rules of procedure and audit regulations.
