Sedlmayr, in his role as former court cook Theodor Hierneis , leads the audience through the castles Linderhof , Neuschwanstein and the Berghaus Schachen of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and tells about the beginning of his career as a kitchen boy at the court. The film was obviously shown first on television, according to one source (filmportal.de) in October on ARD, according to another (Lexicon of International Films) in HR in May 1973. A detailed theatrical release should not have been made. It is said to have been shortened to 60 minutes for the television broadcast. It was broadcast on August 24, 2014 with a length of 80 minutes.
