Hannes Thanheiser

Johannes "Hannes" Thanheiser (born December 4, 1925 in Vienna ; † June 17, 2014 in St. Pölten ) was an Austrian actor and musician .

Life

Thanheiser grew up in Vienna- Gersthof . His artistic activity began after the Second World War . He received his first engagements as an actor and appeared as an accordion soloist and musical accompanist in the revue theater Eye of God , in the Scala and on other stages. With the theatrical crisis looming in 1952, in which many theaters ceased operations, Thanheiser switched to interior design and exhibition design. In 1954 he opened the Studio1 jazz bar in downtown Vienna . In 1964 he founded the Association of Austrian Jazz Friends with Hans Weigel , Friedrich Gulda and Konrad Bayer . He also worked in the jazz combo Cafe Schmalz , in which he played the violin, piano and accordion.

1979 Thanheiser started working again as an actor. He was involved in the six-part television drama Die Alpensaga by Peter Turrini and Wilhelm Pevny . In 1988 he took on the leading role in Oliver Herbrich's film Erdenschwer . Numerous other film and theater appearances followed. During his acting career, he has appeared in more than 120 films.

Thanheiser was married and last lived on the former knight seat Würmling near Hafnerbach , which he had restored himself from his own resources.
