The Appointments of Dennis Jennings is a short 1988 American comedy film .
action
The introverted Dennis Jennings is a daydreamer. He works as a waiter and has a somewhat retarded girlfriend, Emma. Dennis wants to free himself from his mental isolation and is looking for the psychiatrist Dr. Schooner, who doesn't seem really interested in his client's problems. However, Dennis finds that his psychiatrist is explaining his problems to a group of students. When he also finds out that Emma is cheating on him with Schooner, he's had enough of everything. He chases the psychiatrist into a forest and shoots him. For this, Dennis is put in prison with an equally disinterested psychiatrist.

In 1989 the film received an Oscar in the Best Short Film category.
