Joe Grifasi

Joe Grifasi (born June 14, 1944 in Buffalo , New York ; born Joseph Grifasi ) is an American actor .

Life and accomplishments

Grifasi, son of a skilled worker, served in the US Army from 1963 to 1966 . He graduated from the Yale School of Drama . He played his first film role alongside John Lithgow in the television thriller Secret Service from 1977. In the film drama Nightmare Behind Bars (1978) he was seen in one of the larger roles, he also played a larger role on the side of the also directing James Caan in the film drama Traces into Nowhere (1980). He also starred in the short film The Appointments of Dennis Jennings , who at the Academy Awards 1989 as Best Short Film Award.

In the fantasy comedy A Heavenly Lover (1989) Grifasi appeared on the side of Cybill Shepherd , Robert Downey junior , Ryan O'Neal and Mary Stuart Masterson . In 2001 he directed the play Heaven Can Wait , which was staged at the Westport Country Playhouse .

Grifasi has been married to the musician Jane Ira Bloom since 1974.
