The Big Jump (subtitle: Fly with us in 3D ) is a cinema documentary on the subject of ski flying . It is the first movie and the first 3D production about ski flying.

The film tells the stories of some ski jumpers as part of the competitions on the Kulm and in Oberstdorf . Particular attention is drawn to the preparations, the implementation of the competition and, above all, the experience of ski flying itself. The ski jumpers mentioned are Stefan Kraft , Thomas Diethart , Daniel-André Tande , Anders Fannemel , Noriaki Kasai , Andreas Wellinger and Sven Hannawald .

The shooting concept comes from Ernst Kaufmann , with the assistance of Alexander Pointner . The film premiere took place on February 25, 2019 in the MEGA cinema in Innsbruck , in the presence of Alexander Pointner, Thomas Diethard and Sven Hannawald. The cinema release is scheduled for March 7, 2019.

The stereographer Florian Maier and his STEREOTEC crew were responsible for recording the 3D images . In addition to the STEREOTEC Light Weight Rig with ARRI Alexa Mini cameras, the STEREOTEC Shoulder Rig and the STEREOTEC Helmet Rig with the Codex Action Cam, which were specially made for this production, were used in the implementation.
