action
Jin-ah is a prostitute who has recently started working in the tiny Birdcage Inn family guesthouse and uses her income to ensure the survival of the family of four who run it. She also shows that she has artistic talent, but something in her unexplained past prevents her from acting it out. The family man rapes her, as does a suitor and her pimp, who turns up after a stay in prison to cash in and assures her of his "love" by giving her a tangerine. Hye-mi, the prudish daughter of the family, doesn't like her at all, but her little brother Hyun-Woo has a crush on her and like his father has sex with her, but he pays. He also persuades her to take nude photos, which he sends to a magazine to become a photographer, and bugs her room to eavesdrop on her having sex. Rejected by her, Hye-mi's boyfriend also wants to buy sex with Jin-Ah, but then shrinks back scrupulously. Towards the end, the two women get closer, homoerotic feelings are suggested. The film ends openly.
