The Crossing Lines Project

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Crossing Lines Project - the full name is Power of Diversity. The Crossing Lines Project - is the title of an intercultural and Europe-wide dance theater that was developed from 2015 to 2018 under the direction of the Freiburg action theater Panoptikum and performed in public by young adults. The cultural funding of the European Union contributed to the financing of the project.

Conception

The definition of hip-hop music with the typical spoken word rap as a form of expression was made at the beginning of the project. According to Matthias Rettner , who was responsible for the overall management of the project, both the participants and the audience from different walks of life are interested in this artistic combination, so that the lines of social and ethnic origin hardly play a role. The overall concept, which was divided into two phases, was shaped by Sigrun Fritsch from Aktionstheater Panoptikum and rapper Robin Haefs from Berlin: The first phase involved advertising for three people from ten European partner cities. This group of thirty young adults developed the dance theater The Crossing Lines Project in Freiburg in the summer of 2017 . In the second phase, following the premiere on the Stühlinger Kirchplatz in Freiburg on July 28, 2017, from August 2017 to summer 2018 , the piece was performed a total of nine times in public space.
