action
The two sons go on different sides in the American Civil War, where they are separated from their unit in the course of a battle and meet. Union John shoots Confederation John, whereupon the former seeks refuge in the house of his enemy's mother while on the run. Waiting between her duties as a citizen and a mother, motherhood wins and she hides the enemy. A short time later, her wounded son returns home.
