The Last Hangover (original title: Se Beber, Não Ceie , in German If you drink, you shouldn't have dinner ) is a Brazilian religious satire by the comedy group Porta dos Fundos (in German back door ) and was published as their 2018 Christmas special on 21 December of the year on Netflix . The film parodies the Last Supper (English: The Last Supper ) and the movie Hangover .

action

After the Lord's Supper with Jesus, the apostles wake up hungover and with a film torn; Jesus has disappeared, Judas still passed out from alcohol and there is a tiger in the bathroom. Little by little, they remember:

After breaking the bread, Jesus announced that he was going to die soon and that the disciples should spread his word. To capture the moment, he has a painting made of them. Thomas' farewell brought along is cocaine and hashish; he has also invited Maria Magdalena and other prostitutes. While Magdalena is having fun with some of the apostles, Jesus gets drunk. When Diego, another guest in the tavern, who had overheard that Jesus is going to die, claims to take over his position and also to be God's Son, Jesus starts a fight with him and kills him with magic. He also makes a tiger appear in the bathroom so that Bartholomew can feed the corpse to it. The celebration continues so loudly that two Roman soldiers soon knock and check them. When they want to take Jesus with them, Judas persuades them to use the bath beforehand, where they are eaten by the tiger. Therefore Bartholomew should bury Diego instead and leave the tavern. While the bottle is being rolled, Judas, who cannot tolerate alcohol, wants to go, but Jesus persuades him to have one last glass of water, which he turns into absinthe , so that Judas falls over. Because the tavern owner asks the group to leave, Jesus gives James the task of tying him to the ceiling. When the bottle points to Jesus, the apostles do not dare to apply anything to him, and Jesus provokes them with a nail, whereupon Simon knocks it into his hand. To show him that they are not cowards, Thomas came up with the idea of turning the unconscious Jesus into a scarecrow.

After remembering this, the apostles find Jesus attached to a cross outside and are appalled by what they did. Judas wakes up from the alcohol and comes out; When he asked who did this to their Messiah, the other apostles gave him the crucifixion and chased him away as a traitor. When she is alone with Jesus again, he speaks to her and shows them that he is still alive.

Parodies

The Last Hangover parodies the Last Supper based on the film Hangover , in which a group of friends wakes up after a night of partying with a crack in the film and has to reconstruct the previous evening in order to find a friend who has disappeared. The tiger in the bathroom also comes from this film.

The Roman soldier named Hämmermich names his cousin Schwanzus Longus, a character from The Life of Brian , another parody of the life of Jesus.
